Thanksgiving weekend marked the end .. (of what we plan so far) of our Summer 2006 trips out to Victoria Beach. All pictures are now loaded.

We might go back over XMas break or other day trips .. we don’t know - but, as for a “Summer” trip - Summer is over.

We had fun! And we will have many years of fun.

Brrrrr… it was as high as mid-teens on Saturday - midday - … but at night and early morning it was about 6c .. and most of the day around 11c …

I don’t know why I brought my swimming suit .. but, you just never know right?

I’ve added pictures to the gallery, starting towards the end of Page 10 through to Page 13.

One thing I’ve learned … I still have NOT worn socks and swear by my CROCS .. and my feet were NOT cold either! It’s almost as if the rubber insulated from the cold and kept my feet warm.

Neat-o.

I was milking it up trying to enjoy the last of the summer. The temperature was getting colder during the morning and evenings, and about 24-26 celcius during the mid-afternoon. Although, I noticed that the sun was not straight over our heads anymore .. and shifted in its rise and setting.

Also .. the water, as refreshing as it was .. got colder much sooner! It’s a big lake. We’re taking off another weekend .. and our tentative plans are to do a day trip, and another weekend .. and then based on the weather .. considering if its best to keep going out on day trips - or close it down for the winter. Of course, that decision is not up to me (and Yvonne alone) .. there are partners involved … hopefully .. the others will want to keep it open or accessible all winter so maybe we can go up there and cross country ski or something cool like that.

We had a nice time. Yvonne invited her friend Brenda and Gary out on Saturday the 19th .. and had a fun filled day walking, swimming, socializing .. etc etc.

I was unable to spend the time during the last weekend of August, due to deadlines on the 31st .. (which coincided with our 4th wedding anniversary!)

Server Glitch?

September 15th, 2006

My apologies ..

Five of my sites were down since yesterday .. although some of the RSS Feeds were still working, and I’ve been getting comment spam .. most have not been able to view the site. I believe it was a “Permissions” issue, as a result of some migration of my account to new host servers.. But, I’ll never know for sure - because I’m not asking .. I’m just glad we’re back online! WooHoo!

Sorry for any inconvenience!!

Take care.

Q&A: Making a federal case — how the FBI collars Cyber-Criminals
Robert Mitchell

July 28, 2006 (Computerworld) Identity theft, hacking for profit, espionage, iPod slurping — the FBI is increasingly focused on helping organizations fight these and other cybercrimes. Computerworld’s Robert L. Mitchell asked several agents what they’re seeing in the field and what advice they can offer IT.

Andrew G. Arena is special agent in charge of the FBI’s criminal division in New York, Matt Heron is assistant special agent in charge of the transnational criminal enterprise branch in New York, and Timothy O’Brien is a special agent with the computer crimes squad in the New York office. Nenette Day, a special agent in Boston, was responsible for a sting operation that recovered the source code stolen from a major computer-aided design software vendor
.
You all met recently with corporate CIOs. Why are you seeking them out?
Arena: We’re trying to build a relationship with the private sector where they will trust us, where they will be comfortable coming to us if there is an intrusion.
